Lill Architects is a design-led practice with two director owners, Ania and Peter. We have over thirty years of design experience in both the residential and commercial sectors. The majority of our projects are bespoke house refurbishments and extensions, some of which are listed and some within conservation areas. The practice also works on smaller scale educational and commercial projects. We pride ourselves on respecting the individual requirements of every client and nurturing a close working relationship, resulting in truly unique and carefully considered designs and a portfolio of award-winning projects.
The practice is experienced in leading projects from concept to completion. We guide our clients step by step through all design stages, including local authority approval processes. We work closely with construction professionals, manufacturers and local authorities to ensure the design intent is maintained till completion.
Our work is carried out on 3D software, allowing us to present multiple design options that help our clients understand the full potential of their project. Our designs are developed and enriched with innovative materials and careful detailing. We consider sustainable opportunities at all stages of each project and enhancing each design’s connection with the external environment, championing the benefits of plants and landscape as an integral part of the design.

Ania Lill
In the years I have worked at Lill Architectures, I enjoy immersing myself in every project, to ensure that the build is designed with care, flair and attention to detail.
Before I co-founded Lill Architects over ten years ago, I spent 25 years at SOM, London working on high end residential and commercial projects around the world. I also spent time at Lifschutz Davidson, London and my early career at T.R.Hamzah & Yeang, Kuala Lumpur, which helped reinforce my love of the natural environment.
Nature and landscape play a large role in my design ethos. I always consider the internal and external environments together, strengthening the relationship where possible. I strongly believe that a connection with the outdoors creates greater wellbeing.
When possible, we volunteer our architectural skills to local community projects to champion nature in our local environment. We have won multiple awards and made many friends along the way.
Peter Lill
Before joining Lill Architects, I was Projects Director at Vx3 working on building designs and master plans in Europe and the Far East. Prior to this, I was an Associate Director at Skidmore, Owings and Merrill in London where my involvement included 160 Queen Victoria Street, Fleet Place House and Credit Suisse office buildings in London, Edifico Portico in Madrid, Ducat Place III in Moscow, as well as the Expo '98 arena in Lisbon.
My focus was large scale mixed use developments, leading large teams and ensuring the design intent for each project was developed in parallel with client requirements and maintained throughout the design process - from initial concepts through to design documentation and construction.
This design ethos and rigour translates well to Lill Architects where we take pride in ensuring quality is maintained at all stages of our work.
