We care passionately about design and the natural world, and we take every opportunity to combine these two aspects together in our work. When the time and opportunity arises we volunteer our time to projects that benefit nature and the local community. A few examples below.
Warren Farm Nature Reserve Wildlife Hub
UB2, Ealing, London
Following discussions, design presentations and wonderful walks at Warren Farm throughout the seasons, we designed the Rewilding Hub: a small, low impact, environmentally friendly, flexible building which fosters a strong connection with the location, community and beyond. (Please see the Warren Farm website: https://www.warrenfarmnaturereserve.co.uk/blog/innovative-warrenfarmnr-rewilding-hub-design-concept-goes-live for further information)
The Potting Project
W11, Kensington and Chelsea, London
Concept designs for a replacement greenhouse / potting shed for volunteer gardeners and the local community in the amazing Terrence Higgins Trust Memorial Garden at the Museum of Brands (nominal fee paid for design services).
Treehouses at Kew Design Competition
Celebrating Play
In collaboration with Christ the Saviour Cof E Primary School, W5, we prepared a concept for accessible tree houses in the shape of bird nest boxes ‘hanging off’ the chosen maple tree, all made from cross laminated timber. Accessible ramps allow a journey of discovery past bird feeders and child centred information play stations at high and low level for all users.
